Senator Dianne Feinstein Responds To Region's Sequestration Concerns
In a letter penned to the Antelope Valley Board of Trade on September 27th, 2012, U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein voiced her concerns about the impact of across-the-board sequestration cuts to the Los Angeles County regional economy and greater community.
Saying she shared the L.A. Jobs Defense Council's "deep concerns that "indiscriminate cuts would simply shift the burden of deficit reduction onto states and cities, and force further layoffs of thousands of teachers, firefighters and other first responders," Senator Feinstein laid out an alternative plan that would mitigate the impact of sequestration including a compromised plan to reduce across-the-board by nearly half.
